Dressing the part…

The saying goes “dress for the job you want, not the job you have”….

Lately I’ve been working from the home office and realizing that my nighttime attire has suddenly become my daytime attire.  Needless to say, it’s been a little too comfortable working from home…  This made me think of a funny story about my old boss. A few years ago, my boss went on a major shopping binge.  Each day she’d show up in a newly pressed suit, looking like the latest spread in Women’s Wear Daily or some other fashion mag.  You’d blink a few times, and then try to mentally calculate the cost of her outfit– only to realize it’s probably more than your current retirement savings!  By the end of the week, we all got used to the catwalk into the office and would take note to the latest trends.   Later that following week, I found out that our office was being interviewed by a potential client at a high end fashion company.  All those outfits were chalked up to marketing, proving that the boss was up with the latest and greatest — in both fashion and architecture!

Maybe its not Commes Des Garcon or Alexander Wang, but I’m pretty sure it probably shouldn’t be sweatpants on a daily basis!
